  • How case studies, targeting and partnerships can help
  • Ways you can carry out these strategies

At CiteAb, we collect data on the research reagent market. We have a database of over 14 million reagents from over 600 suppliers.

That’s why we know that the research reagent market, particularly for research antibodies, is a vast and competitive space. We have worked closely with almost 100 suppliers and have gained insight into the challenges of maximizing visibility and promoting new products to scientists across the globe, as well as approaches that can work.

Below, we’ve listed three ideas to help in this challenge:

Three ways to maximise product exposure

Three approaches for your life science reagent product marketing

1. Case studies of how your products have been used by scientists

Highlighting exactly how products have been used in publications (particularly in exciting research) can make a compelling piece and attract the interest of researchers.

On top of this, use cases give scientific credibility to your product – academic publications provide an unbiased third party source of information for researchers to evaluate.

Case studies could be in the form of published images showing your products in use, signposting the actual publications that use your products, or talking to scientists themselves and producing pieces of content.

Here’s some examples of published images we have collected at CiteAb, showcasing products in action! (these were featured as ‘image of the month’ over on our social media channels)

One way to make the process of collating case studies easier is by using a citation provision provider to supply you with data on where your products have been used in the literature (you can read about our services here). You can then spend more time on the creative element of putting together content.

Alternatively, you can collect citations yourself manually from the literature.

To get a taste, you can have a go on our search engine freely below. Search for a specific product and get a list of available citations on product pages to inspire your next campaign.

2. Highlighting products of interest to relevant institutions

Another way to increase product visibility is by getting more granular and determining which institutions are most likely to benefit from using your products.

By doing so, you can tailor your messaging to these institutions, run advertising or reach out to them directly. The same approach can be applied to specific regions or key opinion leaders.

This requires an understanding of which specialisms different institutions have, which institutions have a high level of research activity and who are the leaders across research areas. (Our market data can also help you do this!)

As an example, we recently published a blog analysing the top 50 neuroscience institutions by antibody citations, which you can read here. You can download the data for your own analysis and to inform your campaigns.

3. Partner with a platform researchers use

Another way to reach more researchers is to use the platform of other organisations who provide services to scientists.

Meeting scientists where they are looking for reagents, whether this be on review sites, search engines, scientific news outlets or more, is an easy way to maximise exposure. With so many options out there it is important to determine which best fits your products, brand and budgets.

Of course, we would like you to use CiteAb! Our reagent search engine has over 80,000 users a month and we list all products we find to help researchers search and evaluate available reagents and find the best one for their research.

By partnering with us to list, you can ensure your catalogue is always up to date so researchers are seeing all products you have available, and add a custom advert.

Wrap-up

We hope you’ve found some of these ideas helpful! In a large and competitive market, trying a combination of many different strategies and multiple content formats can help to find what works for your products and brand. As always, get in touch if you have any more suggestions that we can add to this blog.
