From expanding our research reagent database and hosting the 5th International Antibody Validation Meeting, to celebrating the CiteAb Awards and uncovering our reagent search platform has supported Nobel Prize-winning labs – 2025 has been an exciting year for the team.
Read on for a summary of our highlights and what we have coming up next year:
How have we improved the CiteAb Database in 2025?
Our developers and product managers have continued to expand and improve the CiteAb database this year, an in-depth and trusted source of reagent data globally.
Through a unique combination of AI-powered text mining and human validation, we’ve reached new milestones, including:
- 8.4 million product citations
- 17 million reagents, including antibodies, proteins, biochemicals, nucleotides, and kits
- Over 800k experimental images
- Expanded data coverage to instruments
This database powers everything we do – from our citation provision services to our market data and researcher tools.
Empowering Researchers with Search Tools
Search Engine News
We were proud to discover through a new analysis carried out this year, that scientists in four of the last ten Nobel Prize-winning labs have used CiteAb data through the search platform in their research. This milestone underscores our mission – helping scientists make evidence-based reagent choices, to support discoveries.
Drilling down into more detail of how scientists use CiteAb, earlier this year we spoke with Lubna Noho-Soso, Biology PhD Student, University of York, about her research and how CiteAb helps her find the right ICC and WB antibodies. You can read the full interview here.
We’ve also been working hard behind the scenes this year to prepare for the launch of our new CiteAb Explore platform in February 2026.
It will combine the trusted Reagent Search Engine, expanded with Instrument data, with our brand new research tool, the Image Search Engine, enabling scientists to explore 800k+ experimental images linked to reagents and publications, supporting advanced experimental planning.
Stay tuned for further updates in 2026!
CiteAb Unlimited News
CiteAb Unlimited, launched in late 2024, is our data licensing service for pharmaceutical companies and research institutions, which you can read more about here. This year, we’re thrilled to have seen increasing uptake of our data being licensed for internal use.
We have also been forging partnerships with scientific tech companies, such as SciBite, to help organisations harness our data to its fullest potential. Look out for a number of new partnership announcements in early 2026!
Vendor Partnerships: Market Data, Search Engine Listing and Citation Updates
Our core data services for suppliers include Citation Provision, Market Data and Search Engine Listing.
We’re really pleased to have made improvements and created new partnerships across all of these services in 2025:
- We’ve continued to improve our Citation Widget (a plug-in marketing tool for suppliers to showcase citations on their webpages) by adding new filters such as a journal filter and impact factor filter. We also introduced a new ‘Citation Library’ tool, enabling companies to show references for all of their products in one place. This helps to increase the visibility of trusted, publication-backed data.
- We’ve provided specialised Top Cited Growth Factor and Top 1000 Antibody Target reports, designed to help suppliers spot product pipeline opportunities and guide strategy with quantitative insight into markets of interest.
- We’ve shared our ‘Top 100 Cited Reagent’ series, where we unpack the most referenced life science tools in publications from the previous year, with free data downloads. You can read a wrap up of the top 100 cited reagent series here.
- We’ve welcomed several new companies to our Search Engine Listing service, who now have their product catalogues on CiteAb – see an example announcement here.
As always, we’re grateful to our long-term partners who continue to grow with us!
The 5th International Antibody Validation Meeting
One of the highlights of 2025 was hosting the 5th International Antibody Validation Meeting in Bath, bringing together researchers, suppliers, and biopharma/biotech leaders to discuss reproducibility, validation standards, and innovation in antibody research.
With more delegates and speakers than ever before, it was fantastic to see the progress made in the industry and bring everyone together to the University of Bath to discuss the challenges that remain.
You can see a range of talks from the event on the Antibody validation meeting youtube channel, with topics ranging from AI in antibody development, to spatial biology and new educational initiatives.
CiteAb Awards 2025: Celebrating Excellence in Life Science
The CiteAb Awards returned for their 11th year, celebrating innovation and impact in the life sciences.
With 17 different companies recognised this year, in categories ranging from the Innovation Award, to Researchers’ Choice and Antibody Supplier to Watch in Europe, it was fantastic to celebrate the suppliers who are shaping the future of research reagents. Companies recognised were:

Team News
This year we enjoyed a memorable company retreat to Somerset, where we were able to recharge and plan for the year ahead.
This included a brainstorming session on how we can make the most impact to the science community in 2026.
We also saw an engagement and wedding in the team!
