Abcam number one for stem cells
We have released a new dataset today which highlights leading antibody suppliers and the top cited antibodies by research area.
One of the research areas we have looked at is stem cell research, where we have analysed 7,300 citations for 4,000 antibodies, supplied by 54 different companies.
Claiming the lion’s share of the market we see Abcam, who also supply the highest cited antibody ‘Anti-GFP antibody’ which tops the antibody list with 251 citations.
CiteAb lists over 95,000 Abcam antibodies, and we recently reported that the company has been closing in on Santa Cruz Biotechnology, claiming market share overall in recent years.
Another supplier who is doing well in this area is the Developmental Studies Hybridoma bank. Originally funded by the NIH, this supplier is a not for profit which provides antibodies on a cost price basis.
