This year, we’ve been busy growing the team, continuing to improve our research reagent database and introducing new products using this data.

How have we improved the CiteAb reagent database in 2024?
Our developers and product managers work hard to ensure our data remains the most comprehensive and accurate offering on the market. To achieve this, we use a unique combination of AI-driven text mining technology and human reviewing, which we continually improve.
As of 2024, our reagent database now covers:
- >7m double verified citations
- >16 million reagents
- 8.8 million research antibodies
- 600 companies
This data powers our reagent search engine, citation services and market data products, and so it’s really important that it is up-to-date and as complete as possible. It also forms the foundation of our new service for researchers, which you can read about below…
For researchers
Our new service for pharma, biotech and academia: CiteAb Unlimited
We are really excited to have begun offering a new CiteAb Unlimited subscription in 2024!
With this service, our reagent database – the world’s largest collective of reagent data- can be integrated into every part of the preclinical workflow.
From automating reagent selection, to enabling data standardisation, augmenting knowledge graphs, and powering AI tools and science chatbots – there are an unlimited number of ways to use our database to accelerate research.
Early adopters have been using this service for a while, and we are excited to now be opening up this offering to more clients. Look out for the official launch of this product next year, and in the meantime do get in touch to learn more.
Introducing our Nucleotide reagent search engine
Our very first service for researchers, the CiteAb Search Engine, has also continued to grow this year. We are delighted that we now have over 80k monthly users from the most prestigious institutions across the globe.
After listening to your feedback, in 2024 we launched our Nucleotide search engine. This is the sixth reagent search engine available on our site, joining antibodies, proteins, biochemicals, kits, and experimental models.
This new search tool enables researchers to find and evaluate plasmids, RNA, viral vectors and particles and more, speeding up reagent selection for these important products.

For reagent suppliers
Life Science Market Data Updates
Over on the data services side of CiteAb, which serves suppliers, investment companies and more using our data, we were thrilled to launch a new Market Insight Package covering ELISA Kits.
We now provide Market Insight packages for antibodies, proteins and biochemicals – but can create them for any reagent type we collect data on.
For insight into the ways this data can be used, you can read our recent blog covering interesting trends we spotting from the Supplier Share Dataset release for the Antibody Market Insight package.
We have also formed partnerships with new companies using our complete database subscription, as well as continuing our close work with long standing clients (some of whom we’ve partnered with for over a decade!) as they continue to refine and expand usage.
Citation Provision Service Updates
Citation Provision constitutes another part of our data services arm. Through this service, suppliers receive citation data for their products, valuable trust indicators for scientists, to showcase on their site and marketing materials.
This October, we celebrated one year of our redeveloped Citation Widget – a website plug in tool for citation provision!
Since launching, we have onboarded 13 fantastic partners who use our widget to easily showcase product citations, published images and experimental information on their pages.

2024 CiteAb Awards
Now in their tenth year, the CiteAb Awards returned this year and were bigger than ever.
With nearly 200 nominations, the categories for 2024 spanned Digital Science tools, Educational Initiatives, Innovative products, Parkinson’s disease and much more.
We recognised 16 fantastic different companies and individuals in the industry – you can check out the winners’ stories on our Awards site.

We were really pleased to welcome Chris Taylor to the CiteAb team this October! He is leading the business development for our new CiteAb Unlimited solution. You can connect with him here, and get to know him better in our blog here.
It was also fantastic to celebrate a milestone for Senior Product Manager Rhys, who has marked 5 years at CiteAb this November.
We also enjoyed our annual company team-building retreat, this year to the beautiful Malvern hills.
