As 2023 approaches, we take a final opportunity to look back on the last few months.

This quarter we have had over one million page views on our reagent search engine, and added over 470,000 products and 270,000 citations to our database.

So, how has the team grown? What news have we shared? And, how is our data expanding to help even more suppliers and scientists accelerate research?

Announcing the 2023 CiteAb Awards

They’re back!

We are so excited to bring you the ninth annual CiteAb Awards – celebrating the successes of suppliers in the life science sector.

We love running the CiteAb Awards each year, as it gives us the opportunity to learn more about all the incredible impact being made in the industry.

High quality and reliable research reagents are essential for progress in the life sciences, and the suppliers involved in this process often go unrecognised. It’s fantastic to be able to celebrate those in this sector through our awards!

This year, we introduced a number of new categories such as Cell Line Supplier to Watch in 2023 and Growth Factor Supplier of the Year, in order to reflect the breadth of work going on in the industry.

We also brought back popular categories such as Researchers’ Choice (asking researchers to let us know which supplier has impressed them), and Published Image of the Year (celebrating the most striking image from a 2022 publication).

We will analyse our citation data in the new year to determine the winners in our data based categories. The CiteAb Awards team, or a panel of judges, will select winners in the nomination-based categories, which we list below:

We love reading all your nominations – so do enter yourself, your colleague or your company in the CiteAb Awards this year! Nominations close on the 24th February.

Sharing our latest data insights

Over on our blog, we recently wrapped up our top 100 product series which delved into the most popular research products of 2021 in five different reagent markets.

Analysing this sample data revealed supplier successes, popular research areas and interesting product types seeing increasing use. You can read our top 100 product summary blog here, and download the free sample data.

Growing citation data

It has been great to see our product management team expand, improve and broaden our reagent datasets further over this past quarter.

We have been growing the number of reagents in our database, and are really excited to have passed the 12 million mark. We also now have more than 75,000 users each month, many of which have a registered account, allowing them to save reagents, view published images and more.

We have also started mining Springer Nature and Wiley publications in earnest, thanks to our new partnerships with both of these publishers. This new data will help to improve our reagent search engine for researchers, and inform suppliers.

Team news

Our team is continuing to grow! This quarter saw the arrival of Jemina, our newest associate product manager. We are so pleased to welcome her to the team and work with her.

Jemina joins CiteAb with a background in research and an interest and aptitude for data from her studies at Aston University. She has joined the Citations and Images team – meet her properly in our blog.

Events coming up

We have recently announced that the Fourth International Antibody Validation Meeting will be returning in 2023 (13-15th September). Registration will go live in the New Year, so do look out for this.
