One year ago, we officially launched our redeveloped Citation Widget in response to feedback from our reagent vendor partners.
Our Citation Widget is a time-saving and reliable solution to manually collecting citations for product pages (or not showing them at all!).
With a new look, user-friendly design, and an expanded range of features, it’s been fantastic to see 13 companies install our new life science citation plug-in on their website.
Today we outline changes we made to the Citation Widget, how it is working for some of our current partners, and share some helpful resources.
A Quick Summary: What is our Life Science Citation Widget?
For those unfamiliar with a Citation Widget, it provides a simple way to showcase valuable scientific data to researchers evaluating reagents on product pages.
Compared to collecting citations manually and uploading to product pages, the widget requires no maintenance for teams once installed on a website. Data is added continuously by us, updating automatically.
How was the CiteAb Widget redeveloped?
We redeveloped the widget last year to improve the tool and provide our partners with the ability to:
- Customise features to fit their needs
- Display infographics and published images for products
- Use an analytics tool to track performance on pages
It is worth noting that our new Citation Widget still uses CiteAb data, reliably collected using AI-driven text mining technology and human reviewing.
How can the Widget’s new features support researchers, save time and drive sales?
- Customisation means that our partners can change colours, fonts and the level of information shown so that the widget sits seamlessly on webpages and provides the best user experience.
- Displaying infographics and published images is a great way to boost engagement on pages. Showing this data also helps researchers easily access powerful experimental insight.
- Analytics tools means teams can track the performance of the widget on pages, and identify what information researchers are interested in.
Simply, the goal of our widget redevelopment was three-fold: to better support researchers, help save time for product teams, and drive sales of the right products.
Meet our current partners
We are thrilled to have had 13 companies sign up to the redeveloped widget in the first year of launch. We have loved forming close partnerships with these companies and seeing the widget help many researchers on their pages.
