What does it take to impress researchers in the life science space?
Each year, we invite researchers to let us know who they hold in high esteem, whether this be due to their products, services or something else entirely.
CiteAb was created to help researchers find products that work. With accelerating science at the heart of everything we do, it’s important to us that we celebrate those suppliers helping the research community.
The CiteAb Researchers’ Choice Award generates stiff competition year after year. 2022 was no exception, with many nominations for a wide range of companies submitted by researchers. This highly coveted title includes winning alumni such as Bethyl Labs, Biotechne and Advanced cell diagnostics.
The Researchers’ Choice Award winners
In this nomination-based category, winners were selected by the CiteAb Awards team assessing both the quantity and quality of nominations received.
Proteintech took the highly coveted title of Researchers’ Choice winner in 2022, with HelloBio being highly commended in this category.
Proteintech were praised for the quality and reliability of their products, as well as their exceptional customer service. They were consistently applauded for going above and beyond to help researchers in their work. This included providing free samples and trial size antibodies, support through training sessions on lab techniques, and PhD starter packs. As a company who emphasises they are ‘for scientists by scientists’, we saw this sentiment reflected in scientist feedback.
Since they were founded in 2001, Proteintech have consistently increased their product portfolio, and now cover multiple research areas, with a range of antibodies, immunoassays, cytokines and growth factors, nanobody based reagents and more. Coupling this growth (which we have previously reported on in the japanese antibody market) with scientist satisfaction is a great achievement.
Also impressing the research community this year were HelloBio, who took highly commended in this category for the second year in a row. Researchers were impressed by their “Great quality, constantly expanding catalogue, and super-honest prices!”– themes reiterated throughout many nominations.
Researchers also praised their support of young researchers with “travel grants to attend conferences, and useful tips and tricks (i.e. The Life Scientists’ Guide to Applying for Postdocs and the Mental Health; Wellbeing for Scientists: Support Pack) and other interesting resources on their blog.”
HelloBio hold a broad portfolio of products including agonists, antagonists, inhibitors, activators, antibodies and fluorescent tools.
Look out for the CiteAb Awards next year
We will be running the CiteAb Awards again – so do look out for announcements around November time. You can find out more about the winners over at our awards website.
As ever, do reach out with any suggestions of how we at CiteAb can help support the research community better, just as we celebrate the suppliers doing so!
