The annual CiteAb Awards celebrate the very best of the research reagent sector.
We have been really excited to run them again for the tenth year! This time we added new categories such as the Educational Initiative of the Year Award, inspired by the 4th International Antibody Validation Meeting, and the Digital Science Tool Award; as well as bringing back familiar favourites such as Researchers’ Choice and the Innovation Award.
We have been inundated with over 150 fantastic nominations, making our judges’ decisions no easy task.
And, with our growing reagent database, in our data-based categories we’ve been able to recognise a broad range of achievements across many sectors of the reagent industry.
We are so pleased to reveal that 16 different companies and individuals have been named as winners in this year’s awards.
Below we share where you can find out more about our winners.

How did we determine winners?
Data-based Awards
Our data awards are not open to nominations. Instead, we dig into our citation database to uncover companies succeeding in the life science reagent industry.
This spans a range of achievements, from growing companies (looking at largest % increase in citations), to those sector leaders (looking at the vendors with the most citations in the previous year).
We have spent over a decade growing our research reagent database by collecting product citations and experimental information from the scientific literature. Our unique combination of AI-driven data mining and extensive human reviewing means this data is a highly accurate reflection of product use and research trends in the life sciences. You can find out more about our reagent data here.
Thank you to our judges!
For our nomination based categories, we had independent judging panels assess entries. Their combined scores decided our winners. Judging was certainly no easy task this year, with many strong entries to consider.
We’d like to extend a massive thank you to our judges, an impressive selection of industry experts, for giving up their time and expertise to our awards.
They were:
- Victoria Sherwood: Scientific and Medical writer and host of the STEM careers blog, Biomed Badass
- Lena D’Hooghe: Principal Scientist at UCB
- Asel Sartbaeva: Dr Sartbaeva is a chemistry researcher at Bath and CEO of EnsiliTech
- Paul Whitley, Senior Lecturer at the University of Bath
- Claire Weston, CEO and founder of Reveal Biosciences
