We are based in the beautiful city of Bath in the UK. If you want to join our small, highly ambitious team and help us continue to define CiteAb as the world’s leading life science data company, you’ll need to be comfortable taking on a demanding role that gives you ownership and responsibility for some of our key products.
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and proactive scientist to take ownership of some of our key products, including our Explore search platform and widget citation plug-in.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of these products, including collating feedback, carrying out market research, analyzing product usage statistics and combining insights to allow you to build a roadmap of product improvements for our team of developers to implement. As part of a small product team, you will also be involved in supporting colleagues in other areas such as product delivery, account management and improving our operations.
This role will suit someone who has a strong life science background, understands the challenges researchers face and is able to take ideas from diverse sources and synthesize them into a coherent vision for the products – all feeding into our mission to help scientists progress their research more quickly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collecting feedback and product ideas from diverse sources, including existing and prospective clients, CiteAb team members and the research community
- Carrying out market research and analysing usage statistics
- Building a vision and roadmap for product development that can be implemented by our development team.
- Assisting our sales and marketing teams. Including participating in sales calls as a product expert and providing insight and ideas to our marketing team.
- Supporting other product managers with product delivery, account management and improving our operations as required.
Skills and experience required:
- Have enthusiasm, motivation and the desire to help researchers progress their work more efficiently
- Have a strong scientific background with a degree (or equivalent experience) which is most likely to be in the life sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Immunology or related subject areas), although candidates with other degrees and relevant experience will be actively considered
- One or more years of life science research experience or experience managing scientific products
- The ability to take ideas from diverse sources and synthesise them into a coherent vision and plan for our product development
- Have excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to explain complicated data products to others
- Have the ability to work closely and efficiently with team members as a key part of a small organisation
Perks:
- 4.5 day week (for a full salary) – we don’t work Friday afternoons
- Unlimited holiday policy
- Private health care & health cash plan
- Hybrid working, with our office based in the heart of the beautiful city of Bath
- There may be opportunities to travel to meet our partners and attend life science conferences, especially in the USA
- A variety of team social events
CiteAb operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility that hybrid working can bring. For this role we expect you to come into the office a minimum of once a week. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
